NIXIE TUBE DRIVER V2.

Second version of the Nixie Tube Driver project . This time the driver has 22 outputs so you can control two nixie tubes. The driver can also be used for multi-segment tubes e.g. B-7971, B-8971 etc.

Parameters and features.

  • 22 outputs for connecting the nixie tube cathodes (K1-K22)
  • 300V off-state maximum output voltage
  • Compatible with all 5V / 3.3V designs
  • Easy to use with Arduino or Raspberry Pi etc. (only 3 control lines)
  • The drivers can be connected in series

*Please note that nixie tubes require additional 170V power supply.

CODING.

The sample program code has been prepared to show that the control is very simple and basic knowledge of the Arduino is enough. How to connect nixie tubes to the controller can be found here.

DATASHEET.

The design is based on three shift registers that control high voltage transistors outputs. Shift registers allow serial connection of modules and easy control.
